After the passing of his father, Epy Joel’s mother endured financial hardship to care for the family. His journalistic endeavors took him to Argentina where he interviewed the son of the late Colombian drug cartel chief, Pablo Escobar. During his brief stint as a reporter, Epy Joel visited the United Nations where he met Michelle Bachelet, President of Chile. Perhaps the most moving encounter during Epy Joel’s travels was meeting some 9/11 survivors as part of a special TV coverage of the Twin Towers attack during a ten year anniversary special.
