Previous to joining the Avant-Garde and Salon team, Edwin was the owner of a salon in San Juan, Puerto Rico for six years. Prior to that, Edwin worked in a salon in Connecticut, so needless to say, he’s well traveled. Edwin received his training at Vidal Sassoon in California, RUSK California, Sebastian and Bumble and Bumble in New York.

He is one of those stylists that are really better known as “transformists”. If you’re thinking about a ‘new look’, Edwin is the hair stylist to talk to! For new salon customers, Edwin is a charm to deal with. He evaluates your personality, then your hair and finally looks to understand how much time you have to style your hair on a day-to-day basis. His goal is to create a hair style and look unique for each person.
He understands that value of a long-term relationship to really help give the customer the look they want to achieve. Edwin will explain to you what’s needed to give you the look you’re after if it can’t be done in one visit. Edwin’s work has been featured in a lot of publicity in San Juan. During Fashion Week, Edwin’s team was responsible for preparing most of the runway models. While working in a salon in Connecticut, they handled several celebrities. He has a gentle persona and the look of a professional in his eye.
If you’re looking for a new stylist, then we need to spotlight that Edwin is a master of long-hair or short-hair styles. You’ll understand what we mean when you see how he cuts hair and holds his scissors. A master of his craft!
Outside of the salon, Edwin has two young boys, 15 and 12 years old that he is very proud of and enjoys spending time with. He also likes to work out, eat right and take care of himself.
